With
a strict breeding program, our objective is to develop coloured alpacas
that have excellent conformation, very fine, lustrous, long, dense and
uniform fibre. Our goal is to obtain a quality fibre equivalent to the one
from the very best white alpacas.
At Hemmingford Alpacas we took the
engagement never to compromise an animal’s health for economic
motivations. We take a very close care of our alpacas and of those
under our care.
We keep up to date with new scientific
developments and techniques in camelid breeding and adjust our husbandry
consequently.
At Hemmingford Alpacas, we stand by our
bio-security program aimed at maintaining the health of our alpacas and of
the ones confided to us. All our alpacas are BVD tested so that no
PI (Permanently Infected) animal could ever transmit the disease. Vaccines
and dewormers are given regularly based on alpacas needs.
